Ella McCoshan holds a BA degree in Economics from the University of Cambridge. She is currently undertaking the MSc in Space Syntax at UCL.
Whilst studying economics, Ella learnt methods to mathematically model human behaviour and socio-economic outcomes at micro and macro scales. She also developed skills in econometrics: statistical approaches to understanding causal relations between different phenomena, as well as looking more broadly at economic sociology, psychology and philosophy.
Ella’s undergraduate dissertation developed game theoretic models to understand bargaining negotiations in street markets, focussing on case studies across London and Peru. Through this, she discovered the fascinating field of Space Syntax, beginning the MSc in September 2020, and her role as a Consultant in July 2021.
Ella has recently been involved in urban analysis projects in Warsaw and Bournemouth. She is currently part of the team working on the design of two new cities in Saudi Arabia, promoting environmentally sustainable and socially equitable design.
