Sofia is a project consultant at Space Syntax. She studied Architecture in Costa Rica, where she was awarded her Bachelors in Architecture (2016). She continued her studies at the Bartlett School of Graduate Studies where she was awarded the Distinction award in the MSc Space Syntax: Architecture and Cities (2018).
Sofia joined Space Syntax in October 2018 as an intern and joined the company as a Project Consultant in February 2019. She has been involved in projects, in the United Kingdom, United States, Germany and New Zealand, that include detailed spatial analysis, pedestrian movement analysis, design and regeneration of urban space.
She has developed experience in architectural layout analysis, behavioural studies and creating and analysing Integrated Urban Models. Her work includes exploration and research in wayfinding and design advice in complex buildings as well as urban analysis in relation to how different users experience cities and advising in urban strategies.
