Aleena Khan joined Space Syntax as a Consultant in August 2025, following an internship with the company earlier that year.

She has contributed to planning and design projects across the UK and the Middle East, focusing on master planning, public realm design, pedestrian movement analysis, and spatial policy evaluation. She is particularly interested in how people navigate and interact with space, both within buildings and across cities, and how these patterns can be understood through evidence-based methods to address urban complexity.

Her work centres on spatial analysis, modelling, and data visualisation, supporting design and planning decisions that shape the built environment to be functional, resilient, and grounded in human experience. She believes successful places must adapt to change and is passionate about embedding resilience in design and planning to ensure environments remain inclusive, responsive, and sustainable over time.

Aleena holds an MSc in Space Syntax: Architecture and Cities from The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, graduating with distinction, and a Bachelor of Architecture from the National College of Arts, Lahore, graduating with honours. Her master’s thesis examined how the spatial distribution of informal settlements in Lahore influences vulnerability to climate-related risks, focusing on urban heat and flooding. Her undergraduate thesis explored adaptability and flexibility in workplace design.

Prior to joining Space Syntax, she practised as a licensed architect in Lahore, working on residential, retail, and commercial projects across Pakistan and the UAE.
