Po Nien Chen was awarded a Distinction for his Master of Research in Spatial Design: Architecture and Cities from The Bartlett, University College of London. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan, and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of New York University.
Po joined Space Syntax in November 2019 as a Consultant and became a Senior Consultant in 2022. He is currently working on developing an Integrated Urban Model (IUM) for the UK as well as the Walkability Index project with the Prince’s Foundation, Smart Growth Associates and Knight Frank.
He is a PhD candidate at The Bartlett and his research is focussed on spatial analysis, urban transport network accessibility and modelling.
He has experience in both design practice and teaching. Prior to joining Space Syntax, Po worked as an architect and interior designer in Taiwan. He is also currently working as a Senior Postgraduate Teaching Assistant at The Bartlett for the MSc/MRes Space Syntax programme.
