Po Nien Chen was awarded a Distinction in Master of Research in Spatial Design: Architecture and Cities from The Bartlett School of Architecture, University College of London. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan, and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of New York University.

Po joined Space Syntax in November 2019 as a consultant. He is currently working on developing Integrated Urban Model (IUM) for UK and Urban Footprinting project for Prince Foundation and Knight Frank.

He is a PhD candidate at The Bartlett School of Architecture and his research focussed on spatial analysis, urban transport network accessibility and modelling.

He has experience in both design practice and teaching. Prior to joining Space Syntax, Po worked as an architect and interior designer in Taiwan. He is currently also working as a Senior Postgraduate Teaching Assistant at The Bartlett School of Architecture for MSc/MRes Space Syntax programme.
