10th April 2017

We are pleased to announce that on the 27th April we will be holding our second event in our current series, entitled The Urban Imperative: improve, extend, create. This series explores how three interrelated choices, to improveextend or create cities could play out and interact in different contexts around the world.

The discussion will explore how existing places can be extended to accommodate a rising population in cities around the world. What are the challenges traditionally associated with this type of development and how is it perceived in different localities around the world? Are there new approaches being pioneered that could provide a way of addressing the challenges of rapid urbanisation and delivering on the New Urban Agenda in the future?

We look forward to a lively debate on this topic and are delighted to announce our speakers, who will provide brief provocations to get the conversation started:

Félicie Krikler, Director at Assael Architecture
Alfredo Caraballo, Partner at  Allies and Morrison
Christina Dobbs Bayram, Researcher at Social Life
Tim Stonor, Managing Director at Space Syntax
