As part of their “Tombolo” project collaboration, Space Syntax and the Future Cities Catapult have visited three pioneering UK local authorities to learn about ways in which city officials are using Big Data to support urban decision-making. Tombolo is a research project funded by InnovateUK. Working closely with the Future Cities Catapult, Space Syntax is developing “Integrated Urban Models” to connect urban data sets. The objective is to help policy makers, planners, designers and developers make better, evidence-based decisions, tailored to the cities they work in.
