Eleri Jones joined Space Syntax as an Associate in 2016 to lead the Urban policy & foresight team, which supports the strategic development and growth of the company through research and stakeholder engagement activities.
Prior to this, Eleri led the Foresight Future of Cities project in the UK Government Office for Science. This three year, interdisciplinary research project examined the opportunities and challenges facing UK cities over the coming 50 years and developed tools to support policy makers take resilient decisions about the future of their city.
Before leading the Cities project, Eleri led the Foresight Future Identities project and held a variety of posts in the Cabinet Office and DCLG whilst she was completing the UK Government Fast Stream development programme.
Before joining the UK Civil Service, Eleri spent time working for a locally-based NGO in Manila, Philippines which focused on supporting refugees throughout South East Asia.
In the five years before that, she worked for both the Canadian Federal Government and the Provincial Government of Ontario, developing social assistance policies and programmes.
